Union Gospel Mission Thanksgiving Food Drive

October 28 - November 4

Founded in 1902, Union Gospel Mission (UGM) is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving people facing homelessness, poverty, or addiction in our community. By meeting physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs, the Mission is changing lives! During the Thanksgiving season, the Mission provides Thanksgiving meals for those in need. As an incentive this year, Thrivent Financial is offering a $10,000 gift to go towards the youth program of one of the churches participating in the food drive. For every bag collected, the name of the church will be entered into a drawing for the $10,000 prize. As a church we have committed to collection 175 bags this year, up from the 146 bags we collected last year. UGM delivered around 38,000 meals last Thanksgiving season.

Collect a bag on the way out of the sanctuary on October 28th and return it to church with the purchased items by November 4th.

Holiday Gift Shop "Giving Tree"

November 14 - December 2

We have the opportunity to partner with area businesses and churches to provide a Christmas gift shopping experience for local residents utilizing the Open Door Food Pantry. Please take a tag off the tree (after 11/4) and return an UNWRAPPED gift by Dec. 2. We will once again be collecting new and used Bibles for distribution and new blankets as well. Please also consider volunteering for this event this year. More info on that coming soon.  Contact Kim Lyon if you are interested is partnering with this event.
